Dingle Marathon

The Dingle Marathon 2011 took place on Saturday 3rd September 2011 which saw over two thousand runners pass through the breathtaking scenery of Slea Head in Dingle, Co Kerry. Approved Productions once again provided a range of services including route selection and measurement, course layout and design, event safety management and emergency services coordination, along with managing all onsite logistics and personnel.
The Dingle Marathon programme included a 26.2 mile Full Marathon and a 13.1 mile Half Marathon. "The Dingle Marathon is a fantastic event and is probably one of the most scenic marathons in the world" says Approved Productions Tadhg Moriarty who acts as Event Controller for the event. "After just three short years the Dingle Marathon has firmly positioned itself on the European Marathon circuit. We take every effort to ensure that these leading marathon events are executed to the highest standard”. Approved Productions managed a team of over 300 people to ensure the smooth delivery of the event. We are currently at the advanced stages of planning the Dingle Marathon 2012 which takes place on Saturday September 1st.

"MARATHON A GALLOPING SUCCESS" ~ The success of any event is best judged by public reaction and the reaction to Saturday's Dingle marathon has been overwhelming. West Kerry has never seen such an influx of people for a sporting event. The immediate financial benefit to the local economy has been estimated at more than €1million but the long term benefits in terms of return visits by both runners and supporters is inestimable. Dingle Gardai told The Kerryman that the event had "gone like clockwork". |
